Happy 1st Day of Spring!

After the long, cold and hard winter, it's reassuring to see the signs of spring appear. The earth is not the only thing that bears signs of a long winter though. This season is often rough on your body as well. The weather is nice, winter is behind us and making your health should be your number 1 priority!

Spring into action with these easy to do health tips from Bettendorf Chiropractic and Wellness Center:

Eat Locally- With the weather warming up, it offers a great opportunity to get out and visit your local farmers market. Eating locally grown organic food has been shown to increase your health and offer healthier building blocks for your body.

Exercise- Spring usually means the snow is melting and the temps aren’t as chilly anymore. For some this means it is time for spring cleaning out in the yard which is great exercise. Other great forms are going for walks and runs, or bike rides. Exercising for at least 30 minutes a day has been shown to have positive effects on your overall health.

Sleep-Sleep plays an important role in your physical health. For example, sleep is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. Ongoing sleep deficiency is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke.

Chiropractic and Massage- Getting your spine checked on a regular basis is crucial for your overall health. Chiropractic does not only benefit adults but many children also benefit from chiropractic and it may be time to get your family in to see us. Don’t forget about our massage therapists and the great work they do as well!

Since spring is the time when many of us like to get out and get exercise, seeing your chiropractor is also a great way to prepare your body and avoid injury. If you would like to add this to your routine this spring, visit with chiropractors at Bettendorf Chiropractic Wellness Center at 563-359-5600.
