Foot Detox

We hear so much about detoxing.  Detox your liver, detox your body, detox, detox, detox.  Have you ever heard of getting a foot detox? Well I, Dr. Gina, gave it a shot with my mother.  We went to the Herb Cellar in the East Village.  The owner was so knowledgeable and taught me a lot about the process.

The ionic foot bath pulls the toxins out of your body through your feet, leaving you with a patch or a bath full of brown liquid (the toxins).  When you do the detox, it makes the body more alkaline and a more alkaline body is crucial to a person’s health.  Diseases thrive in acidic environments so with an acidic body you are more likely to be sick and have more pain. Ionic detoxes can especially help those that are suffering from GI disorders, skin conditions, fungal or yeast infections and from other systemic diseases.

When I started my detox I first had a change in the water that showed is was flushing the lymph which was more of a white foam.  Then it was more of a yellow/green color which was purifying the kidney, bladder, urinary system and in my case, it was a little frothier or foam like which was getting rid of yeast in my system.  I have had yeast problems over the last few years so that really made sense to me. The whole process takes 30 minutes. I ended with this picture below…sorry if you are eating lunch.

My mom had hers done next.  Her process was much different than mine.  She had a lot more orange which was for inflammation and that is a problem she has struggled with for as long as I can remember.  She also had metal flecks in hers which is from heavy metals which can be from cans.  My mom over the years has loved her soda in a can.  Her picture below you can see the difference.

It was a really neat process and we both felt better afterwards.  I detoxed completely which means I wouldn’t need it very often.  My mom could use it more frequently to continue to help with her inflammation.  She plans to do it again when she is back in town.  I highly recommend you try and now I really want one in the office.  Maybe to come in the new office space. :)
